A man convicted of killing three people and who spent over two decades behind bars was recently observed attending a demonstration in Sweden, working in a journalistic capacity. Ricard Nilsson, sentenced to life in prison in 2000 for the murders committed the previous year, was released in 2019 after serving 20 years, according to Aftonbladet.
Since his release, Nilsson has pursued a career in journalism, taking roles as a reporter and news director at multiple Swedish media outlets under both his real name and the pseudonym Aron Nilsson. He was seen at the protest this week by conservative journalist Christian Peterson, who conducted a brief interview with him.
My name is Ricard Nilsson, Nilsson stated during the encounter. When Peterson followed up with, The murderer? Nilsson replied, Ive been in jail for that once upon a time.
During the interview, Peterson asked, How many people did you kill? Was it three? Nilsson responded, Currently, I work as a journalist and news director for several newspapers.
Peterson questioned whether Nilssons political views had shifted in prison or remained consistent. Nilsson said, Ive always believed in equality for everyone. When probed further, Nilsson asserted, Excuse me? If you would like to ask a question, you are most welcome to do so.
Pressed specifically about the victims, Nilsson admitted, I regret my crime.
Since his release, Nilsson has held positions at Bulletin, Nongrata, and the law-focused magazine Kriminalvrdsmagasinet, where he currently serves as news director and reporter. His presence at the protest quickly drew attention on social media.
Conservative commentator Andy Ngo remarked, A Swedish triple murderer named Ricard Nilsson has reemerged as an Antifa journalist. He served under 20 years for killing three strangers in an ambush and was spotted at a Stockholm protest on November 30.
