Schumer reports bomb threats at three New York offices

WASHINGTON (AP) On Monday, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer reported that three of his offices in New York became targets of bomb threats sent by email from an address accusing the 2020 election of being fraudulent.

According to Schumer, the messages referenced his locations in Rochester, Binghamton, and on Long Island, and included the subject line MAGA. He stated that both local and federal authorities reacted without delay and carried out complete security inspections of the buildings.

All individuals are safe, and I appreciate the swift and professional actions taken to ensure these offices remain protected for New Yorkers, Schumer said in his statement.

A law enforcement source confirmed that Suffolk County police responded to the Long Island location. However, specific details of the threat were not disclosed due to the ongoing investigation, and the individual spoke only on condition of anonymity.

The U.S. Capitol Police declined to comment, explaining that they do not release information related to the protection of members of Congress.

Schumer emphasized that such acts of intimidation and violence have no place in the nations political process.

President Donald Trump was defeated in the 2020 presidential race by former President Joe Biden. Despite this, Trump has repeatedly made unproven claims that the election was manipulated. Courts across the country dismissed numerous legal challenges, and election officials in all 50 states certified the final results.
