Deal or No Deal Island Gets Canceled After Two Seasons

After a brief but exciting run, Deal or No Deal Island has been officially canceled by NBC following just two seasons. The revamped version of the classic game show transported contestants to the Bankers private island, where they competed for cash prizes. Now, the island adventure has come to an end.

The announcement was confirmed by Deadline after months of speculation among fans. Hosted by Joe Manganiello, the first season premiered in 2024, featuring a mix of everyday contestants and reality TV veterans like Boston Rob and Claudia Jordan. Season 2 returned in January 2025, adding even more recognizable faces, including Parvati Shallow.

As 2025 progressed with no updates about a third season, viewers began questioning the shows future. NBC ultimately decided to cancel the series quietly.

Despite a loyal fanbase, insiders noted that Season 2 experienced a drop in viewership compared to Season 1. NBC had hoped the show would become another hit similar to The Traitors. According to Nielsen ratings, Season 2 averaged 0.24 in the 18-49 demographic, slightly lower than the debut season.

Another factor that may have influenced the cancellation was the prize money. While Season 1 offered a $1.3 million grand prize, Season 2 concluded with Australian Survivor star David Genat winning $5.8 million, marking the largest prize in game show history. Some fans speculate that this record-breaking payout may have strained the shows budget.

Whether due to ratings or the enormous prize payout, its disappointing to see Deal or No Deal Island end so soon. The show remains available for streaming on Peacock.
