‘Boston Blue’: Andrew Terraciano Speaks Out About Sean Reagan Recasting

Andrew Terraciano, known for his role as Sean Reagan on Blue Bloods, has finally addressed the casting change, with Mika Amonsen now stepping into the character on Boston Blue. Speaking to Us Weekly on Friday, December 5, Terraciano reflected on his years in the role.

Its a wonderful experience because you carry every line and every moment you had with that character, the 22-year-old said. It doesnt take away from someone else creating something meaningful with it.

He added, I had the privilege of playing Sean and sending him out into the world. Now, someone else gets that opportunity. Both of us get to show our work and share Seans journey.

Earlier, in October after Boston Blue premiered on October 17, co-creator Brandon Margolis discussed the rationale behind the recasting in an interview with TV Insider. We wanted a slightly different take on Sean, he explained. The character remains familiar, but with new developments. As he joins the police force, he embraces the family legacy in fresh ways.

Alongside Donnie Wahlberg, original Blue Bloods cast members Marisa Ramirez and Bridget Moynahan have appeared in guest roles on the spinoff. The series also features Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver, Gloria Reuben as DA Mae Silver, Maggie Lawson as Police Superintendent Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as rookie officer Jonah Silver, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters.

Boston Blue airs Fridays at 10/9c on CBS.
