Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Sing 'For Good' at Private Hollywood Event

On Tuesday evening, a private gathering at a Hollywood venue experienced a magical moment. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, stars of Wicked, performed the heartfelt song For Good at the Aster Hotel, featured in the newly released sequel Wicked: For Good. Among those present were the films director, Jon M. Chu, and event hosts Baz Luhrmann and Colleen Camp.

The performance, accompanied by a pianist, began with playful banter, as Grande teased that Chu might join them as a third vocalist. After finishing the song, Grande suggested they perform another number. They chose the classic 1963 duet Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again, originally sung by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.

This marked a continuation of the pairs previous collaboration on Wicked: One Wonderful Night, an NBC special that aired last month. Similar to that intimate performance, this event was part of the larger awards season promotion for the film.

Both Grande and Erivo have received numerous accolades for their work in Wicked, including nominations at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, BAFTA Awards, and the Academy Awards. The film itself earned a Best Picture nomination at the 2025 Academy Awards.

Chu reflected on the experience, sharing, How privileged were we to be exhausted by getting the dream that we always beg the universe for. We get to make movies, and not just movies, but movie musicals. Musicals give you access to the soul. They bring you closer to the soul.

Grande is gradually returning to live performances ahead of her first tour in nearly six years. Her Eternal Sunshine tour is set to launch in June. On Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, she expressed, Im very excited to do this small tour, but it might be a long time before I do it again. Im going to give it my all, and its going to be beautiful. One last hurrah!
