Tommy Dreamer praises WWE NXT pairing as 'top-notch sports entertainment'

Since August, the Canadian pairing of Chelsea Green and Ethan Page has emerged as one of the most compelling villainous teams on WWE NXT, earning the companys confidence to award them three championships. Page has held the North American Championship for nearly 200 days, while Green recently reclaimed the Women's United States Championship.

One of their standout moments occurred at AAA Alianzas, where they captured the promotion's Mixed Tag Team Titles. Their victory was celebrated with a humorous ceremony on NXT, though it was interrupted by Joe Hendry and Thea Hail, who surprised the duo by hitting them with pies in the face. ECW legend Tommy Dreamer praised this segment, calling it a perfect example of sports entertainment.

"Chelsea Green and Ethan Page are an exceptional duo. The entire scene with the giant cake and their championship celebration is classic sports entertainment," Dreamer said on Busted Open After Dark. "When you expect someone to jump out of the cake and its Joe, and then Thea surprises them, ending with pies to the faceits delightfully silly and pure joy in entertainment."

Dreamer also highlighted the pair's innate charisma and their ability to engage the audience, noting their strong performance in defending their titles against Hendry and Hail on NXT Gold Rush. "They possess a natural talent for entertaining. The exaggeration and playful antics, like the pie segment, enhance the spectacle. And the match that followed was genuinely impressive," he added.
