- 'Sandokan: The Pirate Prince' Drives Fremantle's Scripted Sales in Asia – ATF

Fremantle has secured a broad slate of scripted deals throughout Asia, headed by the action-adventure series Sandokan: The Pirate Prince. Produced by Lux Vide for Rai and inspired by Emilio Salgaris classic novels, the series features Can Yaman, Alanah Bloor, Ed Westwick and John Hannah. The title has been licensed to Rewinds Hits Now for pan-regional Asia, as well as Hulu in Japan and LG U+ in South Korea.
Another Lux Vide project, the high-energy drama Hotel Costieradirected by Emmy winner Adam Bernstein and starring Jesse Williams as a former Marine investigating a disappearance on the Amalfi Coastwill stream on Hits Now across Asia, on Star Entertainment in India, and on LG U+ in South Korea.
Skys original thriller The Iris Affair, created by Neil Cross and starring Niamh Algar and Tom Hollander, is set to premiere on BBC First and BBC Player across Asia, with additional distribution through Wowow in Japan.
Hong Kongs Now TV Limited has acquired a collection of Fremantle titles, including psychological thriller Little Disasters starring Diane Kruger; romantic comedy-drama Film Club co-created by and featuring Aimee Lou Wood and Ralph Davis; drama The Rumour with Rachel Shenton; Season 2 of Daddy Issues with Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey; and Season 2 of Big Mood starring Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West.
South Koreas LG U+ has additionally secured more than 70 hours of Fremantle programming, including the upcoming 2025 slate and catalog favorites such as the thriller No Mans Land, the adventure drama The Luminaries starring Eva Green, and Paolo Sorrentinos acclaimed series The Young Pope and The New Pope featuring Jude Law.
The announcements were made during the Asia TV Forum and Market in Singapore. Its been incredible to witness the overwhelming interest in our scripted content across Asia, said Haryaty Rahman, Fremantles executive vice president of distribution for the region. Audiences are more eager than ever for compelling, authentic storytelling, and our partners have embraced both our new dramas and our iconic library titles.
These agreements follow Fremantles recent reveal that the concluding season of My Brilliant Friend: The Story of the Lost Child, alongside the complete series collection, is now available on Chinas leading platformsiQIYI, Tencent Video, Youku and Bilibilimarking the first simultaneous launch of a non-English European drama across all four services.
