Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie recently spoke about one of the most talked-about moments during the filming of Wuthering Heights, just ahead of the movies release. The pair reflected on a scene in which Elordis portrayal of Heathcliff included a gesture that Robbie admitted left her weak at the knees.

Margot Robbie Opens Up About Jacob Elordis Scene

In a British Vogue interview, Robbie described a moment where Elordis performance almost made [her] weak at the knees. She highlighted one particular scene where he lifts Cathy with just one arm and another where he shields her from the rain. Robbie noted that it was the subtle touches in their performances that resonated with them, emphasizing, These little moments really connected with us as women in our 30s. This film is really aimed at people in our age group.

Robbie plays Cathy opposite Elordis Heathcliff in Emerald Fennells adaptation of Emily Bronts classic novel. Addressing expectations for overtly provocative scenes due to Fennells work on Saltburn, Robbie clarified, People might anticipate something very risqu, but its actually more romantic than suggestive. This is a sweeping, epic love story.

Robbies Experience on Set

Robbie began filming only three months after giving birth and admitted to initial worries about being ready. She recalled telling Fennell, What if Im not prepared enough? and Fennells reassuring response: I dont want you to prepare. I just need you to be in the moment. This approach helped Robbie focus on embodying the character rather than overthinking.

Reflecting on her first reading of the script, Robbie said, The script completely overwhelmed me. I had no idea what to expect. By the end, I was both filled and devastated emotionally. She also revealed she had not read the novel or seen previous adaptations before taking on the role.

Jacob Elordi on Working with Robbie

Elordi shared in an email, Margot is an incredible force. She makes everything look effortless. Sometimes I think she has Hermiones Time-Turner she manages a baby, shoots a movie, produces several others, and still finds time for a beer at 5 pm.

Robbie expressed a strong connection with Cathy, describing her as a puzzle you need to solve.
