Jada Pinkett Smith Faces Allegations of Threatening Will Smith's Friend with Death in $3M Lawsuit, Warned Him of Getting Shot

Jada Pinkett Smith has been accused of threatening the safety of a longtime friend of her husband over claims he disclosed private details about her life, according to a $3 million lawsuit.

Details of the Allegations

Bilaal Salaam, who identifies himself as Will Smiths close friend for nearly four decades, filed the lawsuit on November 7. He claims to have collaborated with Smith on multiple professional and personal projects and appeared in photos used in Smiths memoir.

According to court documents, Salaam says that on September 25, 2021, during a private birthday party for Will Smith at the Regency Calabasas Commons in California, Pinkett Smith, accompanied by roughly seven members of her entourage, approached him in the lobby. Salaam alleges she became verbally aggressive and threatened him, stating that if he continued sharing her personal matters, he could end up missing or catch a bullet, and pressured him to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

The lawsuit also claims that after the encounter, a member of Pinkett Smiths team followed Salaam to his car and continued to make verbal threats.

Refusal to Assist in Crisis Management

Salaam reportedly refused a request in March 2022 from a mutual friend to help with crisis management related to Will Smiths incident with Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. The plaintiff states he declined because he believed the tasks were illegal, unethical, or morally compromising, and he would not participate in any deceptive public relations efforts.

He considers the alleged threats part of a retaliatory campaign by members of Smith and Pinkett Smiths circle after he declined their requests. Salaam further claims that the harassment intensified once they discovered he was writing a whistleblower memoir about the couples personal lives.

Public Dispute and Smear Allegations

In a 2023 interview, Salaam described additional incidents and alleged that Pinkett Smith publicly dismissed his claims, labeling them as attempts to extort the couple, rather than pursuing legal action. He argues that these public statements damaged his reputation and were made with malicious intent.

Financial and Personal Damages

Salaam is seeking $3 million in damages, citing financial losses, reputational harm, emotional distress, physical health issues, and disruption to his personal life and career.
