George Clooney Shares His Most Outrageous Prank Yet — with Involvement of Bill Clinton!

George Clooney recently shared an unforgettable prank he pulled on several top Hollywood actors during an appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. The prank involved sending fake letters to actors, making it seem as though they came from former President Bill Clinton.

Clooney, 64, explained to the Kelce brothers how this unique prank came about: "Jimmy Kimmel gave me a stack of stationery with a presidential seal and Bill Clintons name on it," he said. "I would send notes to actors, signing them as if they were from Clinton, telling them how much I loved their performance in a particular movie even if it wasn't a great film." He confessed to sending these letters to around 30 actors, joking, "I guarantee you some of them are framed in their homes."

He elaborated on his prankster reputation, recalling that he had pulled similar pranks using fake stationary from other celebrities. One such instance involved Brad Pitts name. Clooney shared an amusing story about how Kimmel once gave him stationary designed to look like it belonged to Pitt. Clooney took advantage of this by sending Meryl Streep a book on dialects, signed as though it were from Brad Pitt. "Dear Meryl, from Brad this guy helped me with my accent for the movie Troy, and I thought you might find it useful," he wrote in the note accompanying the book.

Years later, Clooney ran into Streep, who revealed her confusion: "Oh my God, I was wondering why the f--- he sent me this book!" Clooney laughed as he recalled her reaction. "We've done a lot of terrible things to each other. He's done awful things to me too, so it all evens out."

This is not the first time Clooney has mentioned his love for practical jokes. Back in September 2024, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he admitted to sending fake letters from Clinton to nearly every actor he knows. He even joked that he once sent a letter to Tom Cruise, claiming it was from Brad Pitt, suggesting they swap roles in the movie Interview with the Vampire to create a sequel.

Clooneys pranks have become legendary in Hollywood. Fellow actor Matt Damon even referenced some of Clooneys notorious jokes while honoring him at the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors. Damon recounted how Clooney once defecated in Richard Kinds cats litter box and tried to pass it off as the cats mess, a prank that left everyone in stitches.

Currently, Clooney is promoting his new film Jay Kelly, which is now playing in theaters and will be available on Netflix starting December 5.
