Dylan Douglas Criticizes CNN Commentator Scott Jennings - Gets Personal About Dispute Over 'Fake News'

Dylan Douglas, son of Hollywood stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, sharply criticized CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings, labeling him a hack and creepy amid what Douglas describes as a fake news dispute.

The controversy began when Jennings shared a clip from the November 11 broadcast of CNN NewsNight, suggesting it demonstrated the collapse of the Democratic position on the government shutdown. The clip was later amplified by the Daily Mail, framing it as a crushing debate loss, while other outlets circulated gossip alleging Douglass parents were upset and boycotting CNN.

Jennings later discussed the incident on the Meghan McCain podcast, issuing an apology that he said should be delivered personally over dinner with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Douglas appeared on The Dean Obeidallah Show on SiriusXM, blending mild praise for Jenningss television skills with sharp criticism.

Douglas refuted claims about his parents, calling the report fake news, and also questioned Jenningss personal judgment, citing the unusual dinner proposal:

"I appeared on Abby Phillips show nearly a month ago after the shutdown. We debated, and he interrupted me repeatedly. I didnt make any mistakes, yet he kept talking over me. While hes a professional commentator and skilled at what he does, I am not a trained debaterthis is my passion, not my profession. The disagreement was about SNAP benefits and government shutdown issues, but he misrepresented the facts. Later, a sketchy site claimed my parents were furious about my performance and were boycotting CNN, which is false. We regularly watch CNN at home," Douglas explained.

"The story gained traction as Jennings promotes a new book, leading to a manufactured conflict between us. He even suggested taking my mother to dinner, which I found bizarre considering both our parents marriages. Frankly, the whole dinner idea was a little creepy," he added.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions over media narratives, public perception, and the blending of celebrity family life with political commentary.
