Jillian Lauren Shriner, Scott Shriner of Weezer's wife, initiates divorce proceedings

Jillian Lauren Shriner, spouse of Weezers bassist Scott Shriner, has officially filed for divorce. Court records obtained by ABC Audio indicate that she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for ending their marriage.

In her filing, Lauren Shriner requested joint physical and legal custody of their two teenage children. She is also seeking spousal support and the restoration of her maiden name, Lauren. The couple had been married since 2005.

The past year has been tumultuous for the Shriners. Jillian Lauren faced legal issues after an incident involving the Los Angeles Police Department, where she was accused of pointing a firearm at officers. Initially arrested on attempted murder charges, she was later charged with two firearm-related felonies. According to the Los Angeles Times, she was granted a mental health diversion program, which allowed her to avoid incarceration.

Despite these challenges, the couple continued their public engagements, with Scott Shriner performing with Weezer at Coachella shortly after the incident. Earlier in the year, Jillian Lauren also disclosed that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
