Chris Pratt Clarifies Maria Shriver's Involvement in Meeting Katherine Schwarzenegger

Chris Pratt has addressed persistent speculation about his mother-in-law, Maria Shriver, allegedly orchestrating his meeting with Katherine Schwarzenegger. The Jurassic World actor, who shares three children with Schwarzenegger, also revealed that his younger kids remain unaware of his fame.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger began dating in 2018, following his divorce from actress Anna Faris, with whom he has a son, Jack. The couple married in 2019 in Montecito, California, and have since welcomed daughters Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina, as well as son Ford Fitzgerald.

Meeting Katherine Schwarzenegger

During an interview on "Fox and Friends" with Steve Doocy, Pratt clarified how he first met his wife. He emphasized that their encounter happened naturally and not through Shrivers introduction.

Lets settle this. I met my wife in church. I saw her while I was picking up my son from the kids' program, Pratt recalled. I knew it wasnt ideal to be looking at someone in church, but she was just too cute to ignore. That was the beginning, and the rest is history.

His Childrens Awareness of His Fame

Pratt also discussed whether his children have seen his films or realize his celebrity status. No, not yet. I have a 1-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 5-year-old, he said, noting that only his eldest son, Jack, has watched his movies. He shared a story of his daughters being surprised by fans in a coffee shop and not understanding why anyone would want their photo with him.

The actor explained, I dont really do that around them because they dont know what I do. They just looked at me like, Why would anyone want a picture with you? And I told them, I dont know. I think theyre crazy.

Family Traditions and Holiday Celebrations

Pratts family maintains special holiday practices. He and Schwarzenegger start celebrating Christmas early, from November 1, including decorations and music. The couple also participates in an Advent prayer challenge, giving each family member a chance to pray for themselves throughout December.

Before marriage, Schwarzenegger prepared for her role as both Pratts wife and a stepparent to Jack by consulting a step-parenting therapist. She described this experience as essential for understanding her responsibilities and co-parenting effectively.
