NEW YORK The holiday season brings the return of Spotify Wrapped, the annual recap that lets users explore their listening habits and see global streaming trends. This year, Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny claimed the title of the worlds most-streamed artist for the fourth time, unseating Taylor Swift.

Spotify released its comprehensive overview on Wednesday, highlighting top songs, albums, artists, genres, and podcasts from 2025, both for individual users and globally. Fans can now review their personal music preferences and see which artists dominated the platform over the past year.

Global Music Rankings

Bad Bunny led global streams with over 19.8 billion plays, followed by Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish. Swift had held the global number-one position for 2023 and 2024, after previously being dethroned by Bad Bunny, who now returns to the top spot.

In the United States, the rankings are slightly different. Taylor Swift remains the most-streamed artist, followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar, with Bad Bunny coming in fifth.

Top Albums and Songs

Worldwide, Bad Bunnys album Deb Tirar Ms Fotos led the charts, followed by the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft, SZA's SOS Deluxe: LANA, and Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet. In the U.S., Morgan Wallens I'm The Problem topped the album charts, followed by SZA, Bad Bunny, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, and Kendrick Lamars GNX.

The most-streamed song globally was Bruno Mars and Lady Gagas collaboration Die with a Smile, with over 1.7 billion streams. Other top tracks included Billie Eilishs Birds of a Feather, Mars and Ross APT., Alex Warrens Ordinary, and Bad Bunnys DtMF. In the U.S., Kendrick Lamar and SZAs Luther led, followed by Die with a Smile, Ordinary, Birds of a Feather, and Lamar and Lefty Gunplays TV Off.

New Features in Spotify Wrapped 2025

This year, Spotify introduced several new tools for users, including Top Albums, a fan leaderboard to track their streaming rank among listeners, and Listening Age, which compares a users habits to peers of the same age. The Wrapped Party feature also allows fans to share and compare their Wrapped results with others.

Several features that were removed or minimal in 2024 have returned, such as Top Genres, as well as enhanced versions of Top Songs, which shows the exact number of streams for users top 100 tracks, and a Top Song Quiz.

Streaming Trends and Industry Insights

The most prominent global artists continue to dominate Spotify Wrapped, largely due to high visibility on influential playlists and dedicated fanbases. For independent musicians, reaching a top spot globally requires billions of streams. Streaming now accounts for the majority of music industry revenue in the U.S., representing 84% according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Spotify remains the largest streaming platform, holding about 31% of the market share, with 713 million users and 281 million subscribers across more than 180 countries, up from 626 million users and 246 million subscribers last year.
