Woman dies in hit-and-run incident following trip to store

Authorities have confirmed the death of an elderly woman following a hit-and-run incident. The 81-year-old was struck by a dark-colored vehicle while walking along Longmoor Lane in Liverpool at approximately 16:15 BST on Friday.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically passed away shortly after arrival. Police are appealing to the driver, who left the scene, to come forward and "do the right thing."

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements to piece together the circumstances of the collision.
