Police drones deployed in search for missing man

A search operation is ongoing for a North Yorkshire resident who has been missing for five days.

The most recent confirmed sighting of 35-year-old Robert Rees-Hughes placed him walking along Crabmill Lane in Easingwold at approximately 15:10 GMT on Saturday.

According to Insp Michael Smith of North Yorkshire Police, officers are becoming increasingly worried for his safety as overnight temperatures continue to drop below freezing.

The police force stated that drones and specialized search teams have been deployed to support the ongoing efforts to locate him.

Robert is described as white, around 5ft 3in tall, with a medium build and short, dark brown, receding hair. He has a noticeable head injury described as a gash. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a dark waterproof jacket, grey chino-style jeans, and walking boots.

We urge anyone who may have spotted Robert or has any relevant information to get in touch immediately, Insp Smith said.
