Dec. 5 drawing: Mega Millions jackpot hits $50 million

The Mega Millions jackpot has returned to $50 million for the Friday, December 5 drawing, following a recent winner in New Jersey who matched all the numbers in the Tuesday, December 2 draw.

Players who correctly select all six numbers can opt for a one-time cash payout of $23.2 million. This latest jackpot win came shortly after a Georgia player claimed a $983 million prize on November 14, only five draws earlier.

Winning Numbers for December 5, 2025

The official numbers for the Friday, December 5 drawing will be announced here once available.

Checking for Winners

Any confirmed Mega Millions winners will be posted as soon as the lottery officials announce them. For a list of previous winners, visit the official Mega Millions website.

How to Play Mega Millions

To participate, purchase a ticket at authorized retailers such as convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, or in some states, online. Once you have a ticket, select six numbers: five white balls from 1 to 70 and one gold Mega Ball from 1 to 24.

If you prefer not to choose numbers manually, you can use a Quick Pick or Easy Pick, allowing the system to randomly generate numbers for you.

Mega Millions tickets now feature a built-in multiplier, boosting non-jackpot winnings by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x, eliminating the previous extra fee for the Megaplier.

Where to Buy Tickets

Tickets are available in-person at convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and some airports. Online purchases are also possible through Jackpocket in select states, including Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.

The Jackpocket app lets players select numbers, place orders, view tickets, and claim winnings directly from a phone or computer. Players must meet age requirements: 18+ in most states, 21+ in Arizona, and 19+ in Nebraska.
