Filmed from a smaller boat, the footage captures the enormous yacht plowing into the dock twice while passengers stroll casually across the deck. At the time, Captain Simon Johnson was navigating toward a narrow rotating bridge to exit Simpson Bay Lagoon when a sudden electronic failure caused the yacht to surge forward without steering control. With limited distance to the bridge and no opportunity to drop anchor, he directed the vessel toward a nearby dock to avoid striking the structure or risking a fuel spill. The maneuver prevented injuries and environmental damage, though Johnson later attributed the crash to an overly complicated network of fourteen computer systems that lacked any form of manual override.
