The Kansas City Chiefs have released their latest holiday special, Merry Mischief, featuring tight end Travis Kelce in a charming claymation form. Alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes and other team members, Kelce embarks on a playful holiday adventure that brings cheer to fans and the Chiefs Kingdom.
In the short, Kelce is transformed into a mischievous elf dubbed "Kelce on the Shelfie", who finds himself left alone at GEHA Field while Mahomes and the rest of the team are away for a game. The animated elf's antics bring laughter and excitement, ultimately helping to rally the team just in time for the Chiefs' Christmas Day showdown against the Denver Broncos.
The claymation story is narrated by Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, whose warm and festive storytelling adds a special touch. She introduces the elf with the lines, "'Twas the month before Christmas, almost the Thanksgiving game. When the Chiefs found an elf, one that needed a name." From then on, Kelce on the Shelfie becomes an honorary member of the team, creating magical mischief while the players are away.
In addition to Kelce and Mahomes, claymation versions of Chiefs players Trent McDuffie, Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, and Xavier Worthy appear in the short. Merry Mischief is part of the Chiefs' annual Kingdom Christmas celebration, marking the team's third consecutive Christmas Day game.
Chiefs President Mark Donovan highlighted the special nature of the holiday season for the team, saying, "Christmas gives us a unique opportunity to unite our fans, celebrate our community, and create moments that last forever. With 'Merry Mischief' and a full month of holiday fun, were embracing everything that makes this team and this city so special."
Fans can also join in holiday festivities with the Kingdom Scout Elf Contest, mascot meet-ups, Christmas Day gifting, and other community activities. The full holiday short will premiere on December 24, giving Chiefs fans a festive treat ahead of the team's game against the Denver Broncos.
Following a 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, Mahomes and the Chiefs now hold a 6-6 record as they prepare for their next matchup against the Houston Texans on Sunday, December 7.
