Cam’ron expresses remorse for agreeing to LOX ‘Verzuz’ battle: ‘I Was Trying to Be a Team Player’

Cam'ron has expressed regret over his participation in the 2021 Verzuz battle between the Diplomats and The LOX. During a recent episode of It Is What It Is, Cam'ron, Ma$e, Maurice Clarett, and host Treasure "Stat Baby" Wilson were discussing Lane Kiffin's decision to leave Ole Miss for SEC rival LSU, just ahead of the College Football Playoffs. Stat Baby then asked the panel about any difficult decisions they had faced in their careers.

When it was Cam'rons turn to respond, he reflected on his decision to join the Verzuz battle, which saw Dipset, the Harlem-based group Cam'ron is part of, lose to Yonkers' The LOX. "I can name a lot of decisions that werent good because I was trying to be a team player," Cam'ron explained. "I shouldnt have done the Verzuz, I told everyone, Dont do the Verzuz. I told them, I dont wanna do the Verzuz. But Im a team player, and it was the wrong decision that I made. No more of that, no more of that, no more of that."

He continued, "I tried to be a team player a lot of times, and thats the first thing that came to my mind when you said Wrong decisions. It was the wrong decision."

Led by Jadakiss, The LOX famously defeated Dipset at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, with Jadakiss' legendary "Who Shot Ya?" freestyle delivering the knockout punch. The Verzuz battle remains one of the most memorable in the series.
