Lakers coach JJ Redick discusses potential return date for Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic will miss his second consecutive game on Friday as the Los Angeles Lakers face the Boston Celtics during the second matchup of a three-game road stretch, due to a personal matter. LeBron James will also be sidelined, listed out with sciatica and a left foot issue.

The Lakers are eager to have Doncic back, particularly because James has struggled in his six games since returning from sciatica this season. Coach JJ Redick indicated that Doncic could be available for Sundays game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the final stop on this road trip.

Redick described Doncics return as happening soon and mentioned that playing in Philadelphia remains a possibility.

Doncic has been delivering remarkable performances this season, averaging an NBA-leading 35.3 points, along with 8.9 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. This has helped the Lakers achieve a 16-5 record, placing them second in the Western Conference.

Following Sundays matchup, the team will enjoy two full days of rest before hosting the San Antonio Spurs in the quarterfinals of the Emirates NBA Cup.
