Report: ICE Agents Unleash Attack Dog on Man

Washington State Democratic Senator Patty Murray is urging the immediate release of Wilmer Toledo-Martinez, an immigrant who, she claims, was attacked last month by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) K9 in Vancouver, Washington.

Murrays office states that Toledo-Martinez has no criminal record and arrived in the U.S. at age 15. His wife and three young children, ages 2, 3, and 7, are all U.S. citizens.

On November 14, Toledo-Martinez reportedly answered a knock at his door from a federal agent disguised as a construction worker, who falsely claimed to have hit his vehicle. As Toledo-Martinez stepped outside and gave his name, he turned to retrieve his insurance and ID. At that moment, another agent allegedly released a dog, which repeatedly bit him, causing injuries documented in graphic images shared by Murray.

Witnesses to the attack reportedly included his wife and two youngest children. A video appearing to show the incident afterward depicts Toledo-Martinez handcuffed on the ground with a K9 and an ICE agent nearby. Another agent in a neon vest is seen asking Toledo-Martinez his name before moving him into a vehicle.

According to Toledo-Martinezs attorney, Olia Catala, he was initially denied medical care and only received treatment after pleading with ICE officials. One agent allegedly remarked, Im not losing my job over this.

Murray confirmed that Toledo-Martinez remains detained at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, Washington.

This should shock the conscience of every one of us, Murray stated. I do not want to live in an America where federal agents can unleash attack dogs on peaceful residents without accountability.

She added, I am demanding Wilmers immediate release. He has no criminal record, poses no threat to the community, and urgently needs proper medical care, which ICE is currently withholding.
