Thousands of Crayola Toys Recalled Nationwide Due to Safety Concerns for Children's Lives and Health

A nationwide recall has been issued for certain Crayola toys due to potential life-threatening risks for children. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has identified specific Crayola-branded pip-cubes made by CreateOn as posing a significant ingestion hazard.

Approximately 9,400 units of these magnetic building cubes, sold between May and July, are being recalled. The concern arises because the magnets inside the cubes can become detached if the seams split, creating a danger if swallowed. According to the CPSC, ingested magnets can attract to each other or to other metal objects inside the digestive tract, which may result in perforations, blockages, twisting of intestines, poisoning, or even death.

The affected products were available in sets of 24 or 27 cubes, including Bold Colors packs with red, green, blue, and yellow cubes, and Glitter packs containing purple, pink, blue, and green cubes. Each cube carries the Crayola logo on its side, and the products model or UPC numbers can be found on the bottom of the packaging.

Consumers who purchased these pip-cubes, priced at about $20, from Michaels Stores nationwide or online via Michaels.com and Amazon.com, are urged to stop using them immediately. CreateOn is providing prepaid return labels for safe returns and is offering replacement sets.

No injuries related to these products have been reported to date. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to follow the recall instructions to prevent potential harm.
