Authorities have charged three people after protests erupted in Belfast on Tuesday when a Palestinian flag was displayed at Belfast City Hall. The flag was hoisted shortly after midnight and remained until sunset, prompting clashes between those opposing the flag and supporters.
A 20-year-old was formally charged with disorderly conduct and performing a provocative act outside Belfast Courts, coinciding with a legal review concerning the flag's display. In addition, an 18-year-old and a 46-year-old were charged with disorderly behaviour following another demonstration outside City Hall later the same day.
All three individuals are scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on 30 December.
