The platform had been providing real-time vote counts following Sundays polls but went offline around midday Monday, with no official updates released since. At the time of the outage, only 515 votes separated National Party candidate Nasry Asfura from Liberal Party contender Salvador Nasralla. Neither candidate represents the Libre party of current President Xiomara Castro, though Nasralla previously served as her vice president.
The council said it is coordinating with the website contractor to fix the problem promptly. Meanwhile, authorities are establishing a system that will allow media representatives to observe the vote-counting process directly, ensuring transparency for the public.
In the absence of official results, both Asfura and Nasralla have been sharing their own vote tallies, each claiming an advantage in the race.
