Another individual has been taken into custody in connection with the death of a pedestrian in his 60s, who was fatally struck while crossing a road. The incident occurred on Bath Road in Calcot, Berkshire, around 06:30 GMT on 26 November. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

A 27-year-old man from Reading was arrested on Tuesday, facing charges of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of the accident. He has since been granted bail. Additionally, a 41-year-old man, also from Reading, was arrested last week under suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been released while the investigation continues.

Sgt. Matt Cadmore of Thames Valley Police stated that the investigation remains "ongoing and highly complex." He mentioned that the family of the deceased is being supported by trained family liaison officers. Sgt. Cadmore urged anyone who witnessed the incident near Lidl's car park between 06:20 and 06:40 on 26 November to contact authorities.
