Masked robber attacks man with hammer

Police reported that a man was struck with a hammer during a late-night robbery in the heart of York.

The incident occurred on Lowther Street, between Brownlow Street and Eldon Street, in the early hours of Sunday, 23 November, sometime between 00:05 and 00:20 GMT. The attacker, who was riding a bicycle, approached the victim and stole his wallet.

The victim sustained bruising and swelling, according to North Yorkshire Police.

Authorities describe the suspect as a man approximately 5ft 10in tall, wearing either a balaclava or a ski mask.
