Israel informs mediators of Hamas and PIJ's knowledge of whereabouts of killed hostage Ran Gvili

Israels delegation told mediators in Cairo that both Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have the means to facilitate the return of slain hostage Ran Gvili's remains, according to N12s late Friday report.

Brig.-Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch, the Coordinator for Hostages and Missing Persons, traveled to Cairo on Wednesday for discussions concerning Gvilis return and the progression to the second stage of the hostage and ceasefire agreement. The delegation included representatives from the IDF, Shin Bet, and Mossad.

Gvili's sister, Shira, spoke at a rally in Tel Aviv's Hostages' Square, urging authorities to delay Phase II of the agreement until her brother is brought home. She emphasized, This is the first Shabbat that Rani has remained alone there. Compel Hamas to return Rani to the country he loved so much. Continue to stand with us. She noted that 254 hostages have been released from Gaza, but her brother is still being held.

The ongoing talks in Cairo also focus on the second phase of the U.S.-mediated ceasefire and hostage arrangement, which includes Hamas stepping down from power in Gaza. Israeli sources told N12 that Hamas has expressed willingness to uphold the deal and move forward with measures such as disarmament and Gazas demilitarization. Either they agree to disarm, or we will disarm them. We will not leave any threat to the State of Israel in Gaza, the source added.
