Acrobat Passes Away 3 Months After Backflip Accident at Zoo Performance

An acrobat has tragically died three months after sustaining a severe injury while performing at a zoo in England. Muharami Jamadi Ramadhani, 42, suffered a broken neck after a backflip went wrong during a performance at Chester Zoo on August 6.

Ramadhani, originally from Bradford, was immediately transported to Leeds General Infirmary following the accident. While hospitalized, he developed pneumonia and ultimately passed away on November 25.

The Cheshire Coroners Court has opened an inquiry into Ramadhanis death. Area coroner Victoria Davies noted the investigation is necessary due to a possible unnatural cause of death. A full hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026.

Chester Zoo released a statement expressing their grief: We are devastated to learn of the passing of Muharami, an acrobat who shared his extraordinary talent with many over the years. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this heartbreaking time.

The zoo and coroners office have been contacted for further comment. Ramadhanis death comes a month after a separate medical emergency at the zoo that required an air ambulance, though it was unrelated to this performance.
