Video captures Border Patrol agent in mask following woman to her Louisiana residence

This week, a video surfaced showing masked immigration officers tracking a woman back to her residence in Louisiana during what the Department of Homeland Security described as a targeted immigration enforcement operation.

Jacelynn Guzman, 23, was returning from a corner store in Marrero, a suburb of New Orleans, when a silver unmarked SUV stopped beside her and two masked agents stepped out. Guzman recalled initially thinking the vehicle was an Uber. They said, Wait dont run, Maam. Thats all I heard before I ran, she told NBC News.

Guzman repeatedly informed the officers that she is a U.S. citizen. I kept saying, Im a U.S.-born citizen. This is my home. My baby is waiting for me, she said. One agent replied, OK, thats fine, come here, but she continued running. Shortly after, a second SUV appeared. Guzman described the agents accelerating alongside her before moving ahead, seemingly anticipating her continued flight.

Security footage shared by Guzmans mother, Ramona Anglin, shows an SUV stopping next to Guzman, with two masked agents on foot following her as she ran to her property. She can be seen shouting Leave me alone before disappearing into her home. The officers stopped at the property line, and a second video shows Guzmans stepfather confronting five agents, demanding they leave. The agents departed shortly after in two SUVs.

The Department of Homeland Security later explained that the operation targeted a criminal illegal alien with previous felony theft charges and a conviction for possession of stolen property. Agents identified themselves, and the individual ran toward her residence. Upon reaching the property, it was determined she was not the target, and the agents left, DHS stated. No arrests were made.

Guzman said she is coping with the incident. I keep replaying what I could have done differently, but in that moment, panic set in and my first thought was to get home to my baby, she said. She encouraged others to stay vigilant and protect their families amid ongoing immigration enforcement.

The incident in Marrero occurs amid broader federal immigration operations in New Orleans and Minneapolis, with National Guard troops being deployed to Louisiana in connection with these efforts.
