Ryan Day Provides Injury Update on Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate Following Victory Over Michigan

After last weeks clash with Michigan, all eyes in Columbus were on the availability of Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. Both players suited up for the game and made significant contributions to Ohio States 27-9 triumph over the Wolverines, ending a four-game losing streak in the storied rivalry.

With the victory secured, the Buckeyes are now focusing on postseason play, and fortunately, their top wide receivers emerged from the Michigan game in good condition.

Players Come Through Healthy

Both of those guys came out as good as could be expected, Ryan Day said on Sunday. They delivered gritty, gutsy performances. Theyll be eager to take the field for the next matchup.

Smith opened the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown from quarterback Julian Sayin, who recorded three touchdown passes in total. Smith finished the game with 40 yards on three receptions. Tate led the team with 82 receiving yards on five catches, including a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter that effectively sealed the victory.

Ohio States defense played at a high level, leaving Michigan with little chance once the Buckeyes reached 24 points. Both Smith and Tate were carefully managed during the season due to minor injuries, with Tate missing three games and Smith sitting out one game and part of another. Against Michigan, neither showed any visible limitations.

Looking Ahead to Indiana

Ohio State will rely on Smith and Tate once again when they face Indiana on Saturday. The stakes are high as the Buckeyes aim for a Big Ten Championship, and having their top wideouts healthy is a significant advantage.
