NFL Insider Talks About Possible Justin Jefferson Trade During the Offseason

The current season has been a significant challenge for Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings. The team has had to rotate through three different quarterbacks, and the one who had the most success with Jefferson is now sidelined for the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.

During this stretch, the Vikings have dropped four consecutive games, and Jefferson's performance has been limited, averaging just 37.5 yards per game and recording a season-low of four yards in the latest outing. Unless quarterback J.J. McCarthy develops greater consistency, Jeffersons production may continue to be constrained.

As a result, speculation about a potential trade involving Jefferson could intensify as the offseason approaches. While the Vikings are unlikely to part with their star receiver, the possibility exists that one of the leagues top wideouts may seek a fresh start with a quarterback who can deliver the ball more reliably each week.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently discussed this scenario on Get Up, drawing a comparison to the Micah Parsons trade, which seemed improbable for the Dallas Cowboys until it happened. Schefter noted that while trading Jefferson may appear unlikely, unexpected moves are always possible in the NFL.

There is no indication that Jefferson currently desires a move from Minnesota. In every opportunity to comment on his circumstances or the struggles of McCarthy, Jefferson has remained professional and supportive of his teammates. While this situation may differ from Parsons in Dallas, it does not eliminate the potential for a trade entirely.
