Jets running back likely out for remainder of year due to injury

The New York Jets have shown signs of improvement after a tough start to the 2025 season, which began with a 0-7 record. Following Sundays 27-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the team has secured three wins in its last five games. While playoff chances are slim, first-year head coach Aaron Glenn is encouraged by the teams momentum.

However, the Jets received a setback regarding running back Braelon Allen. The second-year player has not participated in a game since Week 4 due to a sprained MCL, which led to him being placed on injured reserve.

Coach Glenn Confirms Season-Ending Injury

Before the Week 13 matchup, Glenn provided an update on Allen, stating that the running back is "more than likely done for the season." The original recovery timeline for the 21-year-old was 8-to-12 weeks, but the team has decided to allow him to fully heal to avoid further complications.

In the four games Allen played this season, he totaled 76 rushing yards on 18 carries, added two receptions for 17 yards, and scored one touchdown. With Allen sidelined, the Jets will continue to rely on running backs Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis, who have combined for 971 rushing yards and four touchdowns through 12 games.
