Fantasy Football 2025: Week 14 Waiver Wire Edition

Welcome to the Week 14 Waiver Wire guide for Fantasy Football 2025. After a marathon of NFL and college football over Thanksgiving, many of us are still catching our breath. But for fantasy managers, this is a crucial week, often the final hurdle before the playoffs. A key challenge: four teams are on their Bye, making roster timing critical.

Even though the waiver pool is slimmer than usual, there are still valuable options to explore.

The Approach

Each week, the goal is to identify top Waiver Wire candidates, weighing both short-term and long-term potential. This also involves highlighting players who may have had standout games but arent reliable long-term (fools gold), as well as streamers who could provide immediate help. Keep in mind that this analysis is written before the Week 13 Monday night matchup between the Giants and Patriots, so some players may no longer be available in your league.

Availability varies: in a 10-team league with six bench spots, free-agent options are more abundant than in a 14-team league with eight bench spots. This guide focuses on players generally available in more than half of leagues, so stars like Joe Burrow or Chris Godwin are excluded since theyre likely owned.

Quarterback Options

QB availability is especially variable between 1-QB and Superflex leagues. Instead of listing marginal starters, we focus on mid-tier quarterbacks outside the top-15 for the season and their fantasy playoff matchups (Weeks 15-17):

  • Favorable Schedule: Tyrod Taylor (@JAC, @NO, NE), Tua Tagovailoa (@PIT, CIN, TB), J.J. McCarthy (@DAL, @NYG, DET), Shedeur Sanders (@CHI, BUF, PIT, and Titans at home before that). Only Taylor seems reasonable for most teams.
  • Neutral Schedule: Bryce Young (@NO, TB, SEA), Aaron Rodgers/Mason Rudolph (MIA, @DET, @CLE), Tyler Shough (CAR, NYJ, @TEN), Kirk Cousins (@TB, @ARI, LAR), Sam Darnold (IND, LAR, @CAR). Darnold is the most consistent, while Young offers occasional upside.
  • Unfavorable Schedule: C.J. Stroud (ARI, LVR, @LAC), Geno Smith (@PHI, @HOU, NYG), Trevor Lawrence (NYJ, @DEN, @IND), Cam Ward (@SF, KC, NO).

Justin Herbert suffered a hand fracture in Week 13 and is undergoing a procedure. If he cant play against the Eagles, Trey Lance becomes a speculative option but should not be relied on heavily.

Running Backs to Target

Check if Omarion Hampton or Trey Benson are still availablethey could return soon. Chuba Hubbard, who struggled earlier in the season, is regaining his role in Carolina and had a 100-yard game with a 35-yard receiving touchdown. He is a priority add if available.

Jordan Mason may see more work if Aaron Jones misses time due to injury. Chris Rodriguez and Devin Neal are essential rostered players in all formats. Devin Singletary remains a usable option for those in need. Other depth adds include Tank Bigsby, Kenneth Gainwell, Malik Davis, Blake Corum, Bhayshul Tuten, Ollie Gordon II, Brian Robinson Jr., and Jaleel McLaughlin.

Wide Receivers to Consider

Alec Pierce remains under 50% rostered despite solid production, making him a must-add. Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie III are viable depending on matchups and targets. Isaac TeSlaa is a boom-or-bust pick, particularly if Amon-Ra St. Brown misses time. Andrei Iosivas could see WR3/Flex value if Tee Higgins is sidelined. Jayden Higgins has maintained a steady floor over four weeks. Additional WR depth options include Malik Washington, Dontayvion Wicks, Darnell Mooney, Darius Slayton, Xavier Legette, Tez Johnson, Devaughn Vele, Luther Burden III, and Josh Palmer. For deeper depth: DeMario Douglas, David Sills V, Mack Hollins, Isaiah Hodgins, and Jalen Coker.

Tight Ends

Brenton Strange has delivered back-to-back double-digit games and should be rostered. Theo Johnson and Juwan Johnson continue to provide steady production. Darren Waller is returning to form and could become a viable option again. Additional emergency or depth options include Evan Engram, Colby Parkinson, Chig Okonkwo, and Dalton Schultz.
