Trump's Prediction for Hosting Kennedy Center Honors: "If I Can't Outshine Jimmy Kimmel in Talent, I Shouldn't Be President"

Donald Trump personally awarded the Kennedy Center honorees their medals in a ceremony at the Oval Office this past Saturday. During the event, he also shared his expectations for the show's ratings and his own performance as host.

Trump confidently stated that he would surpass Jimmy Kimmel, the late-night host who has led multiple Oscar ceremonies. "We have never had a president hosting the awards before. This is the first," he told reporters. He added, "Im sure theyll give me great reviews, right? You know, theyll say he was horrible. He was terrible. It was a horrible situation. No, well do fine."

He criticized previous hosts, particularly Jimmy Kimmel, saying, "Ive watched some of the people that host. Jimmy Kimmel was horrible, and some of these people. If I cant beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I dont think I should be president."

Trump also predicted that the upcoming broadcast of the ceremony, which will be taped and later aired on CBS, "will be the highest rated show theyve ever done." He emphasized that while previous broadcasts achieved solid ratings, "theres nothing like whats going to happen tomorrow night."
