ICE arrests seven 'worst of the worst' criminal illegal aliens in Minneapolis operation

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has taken into custody seven additional illegal immigrants with criminal records, identified as "pedophiles, gang affiliates, and drug traffickers," as part of Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released its newest list of the "most dangerous offenders," which includes individuals from Somalia, Venezuela, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala.

"Local leaders prioritized protecting these offenders over the safety of American citizens," said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "The message from national leadership is clear: criminal illegal immigrants must leave the country immediately, or face arrest and deportation."

The detainees include Abdi Gelle Mohamed and Sahal Osman Shidane from Somalia, convicted of sexual abuse involving minors aged 1315. Another Somali national, Mukhtar Mohamed Ali, faced convictions for robbery and domestic assault.

From Venezuela, Andriu Javier Padron-Chacare, a member of the Tren de Aragua gang, was arrested for theft and had previously been deported. Ecuadorian Job Catani Cardenas was detained for domestic assault, while Dominican Humberto Disla Sarita faced charges for conspiring to import at least 50 kilograms of cocaine. Guatemalan Ernesto Vides-Cabrera was arrested following convictions for driving under the influence and assault.

These arrests follow a previous DHS roundup in Minneapolis, which saw at least twelve illegal immigrants detained, including nationals from Somalia, Mexico, and El Salvador.

The Justice Department also recently filed federal charges against Abdimahat Bille Mohamed, 28, a convicted sex offender in Minnesota, accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman he met via social media. Despite prior sexual assault convictions, he had not served prison time due to a plea deal.
