Bill Belichicks relationship with Jordon Hudson appears to be causing friction within his family. Jen Schmitt, the coachs daughter-in-law, reportedly expressed frustration over Hudsons behavior. The New York Post detailed an incident that took place at Belichicks office in Kenan Memorial Stadium, Chapel Hill, N.C., where Schmitt confronted Hudson with sharp criticism, claiming that she was excessively controlling and even calling her batst crazy.
Sources indicate that the confrontation escalated as Schmitt warned that she was unconcerned if her outburst led to consequences for her husband Steve or strained Belichicks relationship with her. During the argument, she allegedly accused Hudson of manipulating Belichicks thinking and urged him to make a choice between his family and his girlfriend, reportedly saying, You choose your family or you choose Hudson.
Schmitt also targeted Hudsons fashion choices, criticizing her for wearing snakeskin patterns at games and suggesting she should eat a burger.
Belichick and Hudson gained public attention in August after attempting to trademark the term GOLD DIGGER, a nod to their 48-year age difference. The couple first met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021 and went public with their relationship in December 2024. Their relationship has reportedly drawn criticism from some UNC staff, including professor Christopher McLaughlin, who wrote to Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham expressing concern over Hudsons high-profile presence at the university. McLaughlin noted that while employees personal lives are usually private, Belichicks partner being involved in university matters made it a legitimate concern.
