Tori Spelling is opening up about her off-screen romance with her Beverly Hills: 90210 co-star Brian Austin Green. Speaking on the 9021OMG podcast, she shared that their connection on the show felt authentic because it truly was.
"Whatever Brian and I were and are, we have a soul connection," Spelling explained. The 52-year-old actress, who portrayed Donna Summers, reminisced about her relationship with Green, who played David Silver on the iconic series.
On the November 18, 2025, episode of the podcast, Spelling and fellow alum Jennie Garth discussed the classic episode where Donna loses her virginity to David. Garth commented, "I thought it looked real," to which Spelling responded, "It was real. What are you talking about?"
Spelling elaborated, "Donna and David, Brian and I, we genuinely love each other. There's a soul-level connection, beyond just acting."
Garth added, "We all have a soul connection," and Spelling emphasized, "At that moment, when Donna says 'I love you' and David responds, its more than words. It's that raw, emotional, physical connection."
Addressing the nature of their real-life relationship during that time, Spelling said, "It wasnt about being officially involved, but he was my first love. I had deep feelings for him."
Green and Spelling have occasionally shared memories of their past romance. On Spelling's misSPELLING podcast, Green admitted he couldnt recall the details of their first intimate moment. Spelling recounted a trip to Disneyland with the 90210 cast where she and Green, who were dating at the time, spent much of the day arguing.
"We used to have huge blowout fights," Green said, "and a lot of it was attraction and coming-of-age experiences." Spelling noted that the argument eventually led to their first sexual encounter, although Green did not remember this.
After their relationship ended, both moved on and lost touch for nearly two decades. On August 26, during Greens Oldish podcast, they discussed the period of silence, with Spelling comparing it to "going through a divorce." Over time, they rekindled their friendship, now maintaining regular phone contact in a more platonic manner.
Spelling married Dean McDermott in 2006, later divorcing, while Green was married to Megan Fox from 2010 to 2021 and is currently engaged to Sharna Burgess.
