Amanda Seyfried opens up about challenges of balancing motherhood and acting career

Amanda Seyfried has revealed that managing her acting career while raising two children with her husband, Thomas Sadoski, is a significant challenge. This is the most Ive ever worked with two kids, and Ive never had two movies come out simultaneously, the actress shared in an interview with Us Weekly. So, Im feeling a little overwhelmed right now.

The 40-year-old star and her 49-year-old husband, married in 2017, are parents to an 8-year-old daughter, Nina, and a 5-year-old son, Thomas. Seyfried has been actively promoting her upcoming film Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig and co-starring Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar, which is scheduled to release on December 19.

In addition, Seyfried appears in the Mona Fastvold-directed film The Testament of Ann Lee, set for a December 25 release. Discussing the projects, she noted that the two films are very different and advised viewers to avoid reading the Housemaid novel by Freida McFadden before watching the movie to preserve its twists.

Despite her busy schedule, Seyfried has prioritized family time in the past. In January 2024, she skipped the Emmys to spend time with her daughter, sharing an Instagram photo of herself wearing a dress designed by Nina. She also mentioned enjoying vacations to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, describing it as a peaceful getaway where her family can relax and enjoy simple moments together.

Its our happy place. We love the quiet, the beach, and just having the chance to slow down together. No big plans, just walks, food, and time to breathe, Seyfried told Hello! earlier this year.
