Kim Kardashian is taking a closer look at her mental health. On a recent episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, the Alls Fair star and Skims founder visited Dr. Daniel Amen with Scott Disick for a brain scan, prompted by multiple stressors in her life.
"I'm juggling so much right now," the 45-year-old explained in a confessional. "The bar exam is in two months, the Met Gala is coming up, I have my robbery trial, and now a possible brain aneurysm."
Dr. Amen, known for his work with brain imaging, previously appeared on the show to scan Khlo Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. On the way to her appointment, Disick expressed sympathy for Kardashian, acknowledging the public tension with her ex-husband, Kanye West. Despite their divorce four years ago, Kardashian continues to co-parent with West, who has faced controversies including antisemitic remarks, failed political pursuits, and challenges related to his bipolar diagnosis.
When a producer mentioned West's outspoken behavior, Kardashian remained calm, stating, "I just can't really engage. It's better this way." Privately with Disick, she admitted frustration over how her parenting is publicly scrutinized: "Sometimes I just feel like snapping, but I can't." In a confessional, she emphasized, "My focus is solely on being strong for my kids."
Before the scan, Kardashian and Disick discussed her unusual ability to stay composed under stress. "I've always wondered why Kim stays so calm in almost any situation," Disick remarked. "She could get into a fight with a sister and then ask about tea." He humorously added that she might be storing her emotions in unusual ways.
During the scan review, Amen reassured Kardashian that her brain looked "beautiful" and showed no high risk for Alzheimer's. He noted that she appeared not overly stressed, anxious, or depressed. However, Kardashian noticed areas of low activity, which Amen explained as underactive frontal lobes, possibly affected by chronic stress from studying for the bar exam. He recommended stress management strategies.
In a confessional, Kardashian expressed her determination to address this: "I need a plan to handle this because I have a lot ahead this summer."
The November 20 episode also revealed Kardashians unexpected brain aneurysm diagnosis. She told her sister Kourtney that a Prenuvo scan detected an aneurysm that had likely been present for years, possibly triggered by stress. Kardashian reflected on misconceptions about her lifestyle, saying, "People think I have the luxury of walking away."
Fans are still waiting to see how Kardashian will manage her stress, and it was recently disclosed that she did not pass the bar exam. Since announcing her legal aspirations in 2019, she shared on Instagram, "Im still committed until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up just more studying and determination." She added, "Falling short isn't failure it's fuel. I was so close, and that motivates me even more."
