Scarlett Johansson Remembers 'Strange' Behavior on Her Initial Date with Colin Jost

Scarlett Johansson recently shared memories of the unusual dynamics of her initial date with Colin Jost, revealing that the evening almost didnt lead to a relationship.

During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, Johansson opened up about how their first date left her unsure about their compatibility. "On my first date with Colin, honestly, nobody had ever really asked me out before," she explained. "I was a serial monogamist, but I never experienced the typical, 'Would you like to have dinner sometime?'"

The Saturday Night Live star invited Johansson to an Italian restaurant in New Yorks East Village in 2017. "It was a lovely evening. We had dinner around 8 p.m., and afterward, he suggested meeting some friends for drinks," Johansson recalled. "Since I had hardly ever dated, I panicked and felt I needed to leave immediately."

She left right after dinner, which even puzzled her babysitter. "I returned home around 9:36, and my babysitter asked why I was back so early. I just felt flustered and awkward," Johansson said.

Jost noticed her nervous behavior as well. "Later, he admitted he thought that was the end because I was acting so strange," she recalled. "I was just panicking."

Despite the rocky start, the couples story had a happy ending. They tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their son, Cosmo, in August 2021.

The pair actually first met in 2006 on the SNL set, but it wasnt until May 2017 that Jost invited Johansson on their first official date. They were later seen together at an SNL afterparty and publicly confirmed their relationship at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in November 2017.
