'Past Lives' by Mike White, Creator of 'White Lotus', Adapted for Stage in New York Live Performance Starring Sawyer Spielberg and Anne-Sophie de Villeroy (EXCLUSIVE)

While Mike White works on the fourth season of his acclaimed anthology series The White Lotus in France, his 2014 book Past Lives is being adapted for a live stage reading in New York by performers Sawyer Spielberg and Anne-Sophie de Villeroy. The performance is directed by art curator Isabelle Le Normand and will take place at Maxims on Madison Avenue.

The book, published by Le Normand, showcases paintings by Sam and Ali Demke, each illustrating one of Whites eleven past incarnations. These range from a 17th-century British explorer to an 18th-century Spanish royal, a Maori tribesman, a young Moroccan woman in the mid-20th century, and a Cuban waitress in the 1960s, among others.

The live reading will feature a musical component with twelve original piano compositions by Corentin Apparailly, performed by Hlose Pieaud, founder of La Maison School of Music.

Whites inspiration for Past Lives came from a 2009 spiritual journey with Shirley MacLaine at The Light Institute in New Mexico, where he underwent a past life regression over four days. Following this experience, he commissioned Sam and Ali Demke to create a painting for each of his past lives, all of which are displayed in his Santa Monica home.

Le Normand revealed that the live reading will also be staged at the Cherry Lane Theater in New York and select venues in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, White has begun casting for the upcoming season of The White Lotus, which is set to film in the South of France and Paris.
