Nicholas Hoult and Daisy Edgar-Jones will headline the upcoming Disney+ relationship comedy Mosquito, created by award-winning writer Tony McNamara. The six-episode series offers a sharp, darkly comic exploration of marriage, featuring one of the most talked-about acting duos from the U.K.

The story follows newlyweds Kate and Ed, whose carefully curated married life begins to fracture when hidden truths start to surface all triggered by a persistent mosquito that disrupts their routine and exposes the cracks beneath their ideal image.

McNamara, who also serves as executive producer, said he is eager to reunite with Hoult and to bring the absurd tone of the project to life. Studio leadership noted that the writers signature blend of biting dialogue and layered storytelling sets the series apart and supports the platforms commitment to expanding original content in the U.K.

Mosquito marks another collaboration between McNamara and Hoult after their work on the acclaimed series The Great. Production will be handled by 20th Television, Piggy Ate Roast Beef Productions and Hustle & Punch, with Hoult and Edgar-Jones also on board as executive producers.

The show is scheduled to begin filming in 2026 and will be available to stream globally on Disney+ and Hulu.
