Netflix schedules limited theatrical release for 'Peaky Blinders' movie in March

The upcoming Peaky Blinders feature, The Immortal Man, is confirmed for a limited theater release and Netflix streaming in March 2026. The streaming giant revealed that the film will first be shown in select cinemas starting March 6, 2026, followed by a worldwide Netflix release on March 20, 2026.

The project marks the continuation of the hit series nearly four years after its sixth season concluded on Netflix in 2022. Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, wrote the films script, with Cillian Murphy returning as Tommy Shelby. Tom Harper, who directed both Wild Rose and the first season of the show, is set to helm the feature.

Set in 1940s Birmingham, the story follows Tommy Shelby as he is pulled from his self-imposed exile amid the early stages of World War II. He faces a critical choice: confront his personal demons and complex legacy or let it collapse entirely, with the fate of his family and country hanging in the balance.

Murphy expressed excitement about reprising his role, saying the project offers fans a new chapter in Tommy Shelbys journey. Knight teased the wartime setting, promising a full-on Peaky Blinders story with no holds barred.

The cast features a mix of returning and new actors, including Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Barry Keoghan, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, and Stephen Graham.

Netflix is also developing additional Peaky Blinders content. In October, the streamer and the BBC ordered a two-season sequel series from Knight, set in 1950s Birmingham. This spin-off will follow the next generation of Shelbys as they rise after the Birmingham blitz, continuing the saga beyond The Immortal Man.
