Meghan Markle Reconnects With Her Father Thomas After His Emergency Leg Amputation

Meghan Markle recently reached out to her father, Thomas Markle, following reports about his leg amputation. A representative for the Duchess of Sussex confirmed on December 5 that Meghan had made contact with her father. The news came after Thomas Markle's son, Thomas Markle Jr., shared with the Daily Mail that Thomas underwent the life-saving surgery on December 3.

Thomas Markle, 81, had his leg amputated below the knee in the Philippines, where he has been residing since early this year. The amputation was necessary after a blood clot reportedly blocked circulation, and his foot turned "blue then black," making the procedure urgent. Thomas Jr. mentioned that the next few days are crucial as doctors monitor for any signs of infection.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Meghan confirmed that she had reached out to her father, despite their estranged relationship. Meghan and Thomas Markle had fallen out prior to her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, with accusations that Thomas had lied about his communications with the media. This issue became public after reports surfaced that he had staged paparazzi photos, a situation he later apologized for in 2021 following Meghan's Oprah interview.

Meanwhile, Meghans Netflix special With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration was also released this week. In the festive episode, she shared that she was wearing matching pajamas, a holiday tradition from her long-time friend Lindsay, who she has known since they were 17. Meghan's red and white pajama set was from the brand Eberjey.
