Kim Kardashian opened up about the emotional impact of failing the California bar exam, revealing that the experience undermined her self-confidence after six years of intense legal studies and rigorous preparation. Despite the disappointment, the reality TV star has maintained her resolve and is already focused on retaking the exam in February.
After failing to meet the required score of 1,390 out of 2,000, Kardashian spoke about how the result made her feel "uncomfortable" and uncertain, especially after investing so much time and effort into her studies. However, she quickly reoriented her mindset, vowing not to dwell on the setback.
"Im pretty good at turning setbacks into opportunities," Kardashian shared, explaining that she immediately began working on her weaknesses for the next attempt. She also chose to announce the result publicly before the official online release to be transparent with her followers who have supported her journey.
"I wanted to mention it first and let people know that it didnt go my way," Kardashian said, emphasizing her desire for openness with her audience.
Turning Setback Into Motivation
Despite the initial blow to her confidence, Kardashian is committed to moving forward. She is already preparing to retake the exam on February 24-25 and has shared her renewed determination with fans on social media.
"Six years into this law journey, and Im still all in until I pass," the business mogul wrote. "Falling short isnt failure its fuel." She continued, "I may not be a lawyer yet, but I'm fully dedicated to this path. No shortcuts, no giving up, just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way."
Kardashian remains motivated by the near success, adding, "I was so close to passing the exam, and that only motivates me even more. Lets go!"
Kim Kardashian's Unconventional Path to Law
For years, Kardashian has expressed a deep desire to follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, a prominent attorney who was part of O.J. Simpson's defense team during the 1995 murder trial. She took a major step in 2021 by passing the "baby bar" after multiple attempts and later completed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), a necessary step for all aspiring lawyers.
In May, Kardashian achieved another important milestone when she completed the four-year California Law Office Study Program (LOSP), an alternative legal path that allows students to apprentice under practicing lawyers instead of attending traditional law school.
Support From Mentors and Praise for Dedication
During a small graduation ceremony, Kardashians mentors praised her perseverance and dedication, noting her ability to balance raising four children, running businesses, and filming television shows while still managing her legal studies. One mentor emphasized Kardashian's work in criminal justice reform, especially her advocacy for clemency, which has helped reunite families and draw national attention to systemic issues in the legal system.
Kim Kardashian on ChatGPT and Its Impact on Her Studies
In an appearance on Vanity Fairs lie detector test series, Kardashian revealed that using ChatGPT for study purposes may have contributed to her struggles during the bar exam. She admitted that the AI tool, while useful at times, often led her to second-guess herself, which ultimately hindered her performance.
"When I need to know the answer to a question, Ill take a picture and snap it, and put it in there. It has made me fail tests all the time," Kardashian explained. She even jokingly said she would get frustrated and yell at the chatbot when it didn't provide the answers she expected.
Her co-host, Teyana Taylor, humorously suggested that the AI sounded more like a "frenemy" than a helpful study partner, to which Kardashian agreed, explaining that ChatGPT often urged her to trust her instincts, making her feel more conflicted than confident.
