Kelly Dodd Addresses Concerns About Daughter Following Voicemail Leak Controversy: ‘My Only Wish Is to Have Jolie Back’

Kelly Dodd has addressed the controversy surrounding a leaked voicemail involving her daughter, Jolie. "Ive apologized to Jolie. My only wish is to have her back in my life," the former Real Housewives of Orange County star, 50, told Us Weekly on Monday, December 1. "Ive been working to close the gap and repair our relationship. My words came from a place of anger and frustration."

Dodd also admitted regret over the name-calling aimed at 19-year-old Jolie in the leaked voicemail. Despite her apologies, she claims her daughter has not forgiven her.

"Should I have acted that way? No. Did I say sorry? Yes. But shes struggling to move forward, influenced by poor advice, and still has a lot of growing up to do," Dodd said, reflecting on Jolies reluctance to reconcile. "Its harmful for my mom, my brother, and the rest of the family. Healthy families try to make amends. We shouldnt create division."

The drama began on Friday, November 29, when a video of a voicemail Dodd left for Jolie surfaced online. The message was reportedly sent to one of Jolies friends after the teen blocked her mother from contacting her. The original timing of the voicemail remains unclear.

In the recording, Dodd confronts her daughter: "You just opened a Pandoras box, Jolie. I have recordings of you yelling at your dad over vacations and cars. Ive kept these recordings and I could share them publicly."

Dodd continued, expressing frustration over her contributions to Jolies life: "I bought you a car, paid for your college, covered your health insurance, took you to appointments, and provided your clothes. Meanwhile, your dad prioritized his other children. What you just did makes you look foolish."

After the voicemail went viral, Dodd shared Instagram posts from a Bravo fan account defending her actions. One post criticized Jolie, claiming she had been spoiled and entitled while benefiting from her mothers support. Another post emphasized that family disputes are normal, and the love between a parent and child should not be judged by outsiders.

Dodd joined RHOC in season 11 (2016) and left after season 15 when her contract was not renewed in 2021.
