James Patterson believes that Marilyn Monroe's extensive knowledge and high-profile connections may have contributed to her untimely death. The iconic actress, who passed away under mysterious circumstances in 1962, was linked to prominent figures such as President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, and allegedly members of organized crime.
Patterson argues that Monroe's influential network acted as a powerful tool, but one that may have placed her in significant danger. I think that she was treading in very dangerous waters, he stated.
Monroe was discovered lifeless in her bedroom, her hand gripping a telephone receiver. In his new book, The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe: A True Crime Thriller, co-written with Imogen Edwards-Jones, Patterson presents the controversial view that Monroe was murdered. He asserts that his research revealed incomplete autopsy procedures and a detective who believed the scene may have been staged.
The official cause of death has remained a topic of debate for decades. The Los Angeles County coroner classified it as a probable suicide, noting the presence of multiple sedatives in her system and an empty pill bottle near her body.
Supporting Patterson's perspective, Jeanne Carmen, a former neighbor of Monroe, has suggested that the actress may have been under surveillance. Carmens son, Brandon, claims that spies were monitoring Monroe and placing listening devices in her home. He believes that Monroe was on the verge of revealing details about her relationship with JFK before external forces allegedly intervened.
Pattersons book, released on December 8, delves into these findings and presents his theory regarding Monroes death. It combines elements of true crime and historical investigation, aiming to shed new light on the mystery surrounding the legendary actress.
