Hulu Renews Glen Powell's 'Chad Powers' for Season 2

Glen Powells hit college football comedy Chad Powers has officially been renewed for a second season on Hulu. The series, which premiered on September 30, follows Powell as Russ Holliday, a talented quarterback whose promising college career collapses after a critical error in the national championship game.

Eight years later, Russ attempts a bold comeback by assuming a new identity as Chad Powers, a gifted but unconventional player who joins the struggling South Georgia Catfish football team. The show combines sports, humor, and heartfelt storytelling in a unique college football setting.

The ensemble cast features Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn. Powell not only stars but also co-created the series with Michael Waldron, known for Loki, Heels, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The concept originated from a viral ESPN sketch where Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning went undercover for a Penn State walk-on tryout under the name Chad Powers, complete with disguise.

Eli Manning serves as an executive producer alongside Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, and Kati Fernandez from Omaha Productions and ESPN. Powell executive produces through Barnstorm Productions with Waldron and Adam Fasullo from Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe is also an executive producer, with Tony Yacenda directing and executive producing. The series is produced by 20th Television.

Rumors of a second season emerged in November when the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Atlanta-based crew would start production in January. Powell and Waldron have hinted at Season 2 storylines, including potential college football rivalries that fans can look forward to.
