Fallout's Ella Purnell And Walton Goggins Tease Season 2 With Corruption, Pain And 'A Lot Of Tension' — Watch

As "Fallout" gears up for its second season, viewers can expect a chaotic post-apocalyptic journey reminiscent of a twisted road-trip adventure. Lucy MacLean and The Ghoul may appear as uneasy allies, but when the series returns on Prime Video on Wednesday, Dec. 17, Lucy (Ella Purnell) is determined to confront her morally corrupt father, while her undead partner (Walton Goggins) is driven by the hope of reconnecting with his family.

Despite their stark differences, both characters share a complex connection to family members who have committed questionable acts under the guise of protection or greater purpose. "They have this unlikely buddy dynamic, which makes for an interesting pairing given their opposing perspectives," Purnell explained in an interview with TVLine.

The actress promises that Season 2 will bring humor, high tension, and plenty of conflict, as Lucy and The Ghoul navigate their tug-of-war interactions in the wasteland. "It's going to be a bumpy ride," she added. Goggins noted that the show intentionally avoids a traditional father-daughter narrative, instead focusing on two humans forming a bond during a post-apocalyptic journey. Purnell teased that their relationship might even evolve, though with some skepticism.

Lucy's experiences in the wasteland continue to shape her, as each encounter, theft, and violent incident leaves a mark. "Every interaction and death she witnesses changes her," Purnell said. "Survival in this world inherently brings corruption. It's adapt or perish. Watching her navigate this is a major part of the season."

The Ghoul also faces his own personal struggles as the story progresses. "He carries the collective pain of the world," Goggins shared.

The video interview with Purnell and Goggins gives fans a glimpse of Season 2, exploring the tension, humor, and depth of their characters. Additionally, other cast members like Kyle MacLachlan, Aaron Moten, Macaulay Culkin, and Kumail Nanjiani are teased in their upcoming roles and storylines.

Season 2 of "Fallout" promises a journey filled with moral dilemmas, emotional weight, and the unpredictable challenges of a post-apocalyptic world.
